The Inventure Changemaker Challenge is a platform for students to explore socially relevant issues and propose/prototype solutions to bring about the change they want to see in the world. I participated in the programme in Grade 11 and was one of the top contenders.
Building trust with the artisans is critical. They also need to be convinced about the benefits of the project.
Steps taken in this context:
1) A robust framework in collaboration with the Hampi Center of Design
2) Another means of establishing trust is to work on their terms and on their turf.
Over the last couple of years we've been able to provide five projects to the artisans. Our momentum has unfortunately derailed due to the prevailing pandemic. I however plan to continue working towards realising the expected impact. Going forward, I plan to add other art forms into the mix.
